Ribbon Cut at New Frostburg Production Center

VARGIS Opens New U.S. Geospatial Production Facility

Sterling, VA, May, 2005 – VARGIS, LLC celebrated the inauguration of its US geospatial production facility in Frostburg, Maryland on May 6, 2005.

The inauguration is the culmination of dedicated effort and collaboration by VARGIS, Frostburg State University, Allegany County and the State of Maryland. The facility will foster the creation of new high tech jobs for the region and provide a scalable platform for VARGIS’ growing geospatial services business.

At the inauguration event, Mr. Greg Tilley, President of VARGIS, noted “The inauguration of our newest production facility has become essential due to the rapid growth of VARGIS’ business over the past year. It has been operational since early April, with some recently awarded projects already underway. By bringing together highly trained technical and business resources, proven production processes and sophisticated infrastructure, the new facility will enable VARGIS to provide the highest quality mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) products to government, utility and mapping customers across the US and North America."

Mr. Aris Melissaratos, Secretary of Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development, and Dr. Catherine Gira, President of Frostburg State University, further commented on their vision for furthering the partnership with VARGIS and their pleasure with the selection of Frostburg for this production facility.
