Michigan Project Completed:
Awarded Outstanding Quality Performance!

Sterling, VA, October, 2004 – VARGIS LLC has successfully completed a multi-year program of DOQ production for the State of Michigan. Since 1999, VARGIS has been producing digital orthophoto quadrangles on a yearly contract basis. The aerial photography, acquired under the USGS program known as NAPP (National Aerial Photography Program), was collected beginning in the spring of 1998, with a majority of the state collected by the closing of the 1999 spring flying season. Using this imagery, Vargis produced over 2,850 Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quads for the state of Michigan. The primary use of the imagery was focused for land cover mapping and selective base mapping activities. This imagery has a ground resolution of one meter and meets US Geological Survey (USGS) DOQ specifications. VARGIS was given recognition by USGS for their outstanding quality performance on this project.
