Montgomery County Maryland Taps
VARGIS for High-Resolution Imagery

Sterling, VA, May 2004 – VARGIS LLC has been selected to provide high-resolution color orthorectified aerial images for Montgomery County, MD.

Images will be developed from photography flown in the Spring of 2004 (leaf off) at a scale supporting generating 1-foot resolution orthophoto imagery. The imagery will be delivered in Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) map grid tiles, the preferred grid system for the County. Covering the entire county, the project area consists of approximately 496 square miles. The orthoimages will play an integral part in the county GIS program and will be used in a variety of applications.
